گلوبل ٹیررازم انڈیکس کی جانب سے جاری سال کی رپورٹ میں پچھلے پانچ سالوں سے دہشتگردی کے گھٹتے ہوئے واقعات کو بتایا گیا ہے، سبسے زیادہ کمی مشرق وسطی، شمالی افریقہ، جنوبی ایشیا، روس، جنوبی امرکہ وغیرہ میں ہوا ہے، حالانکہ کچھ خطے میں دہشتگردی میں اضافہ ہوا ہے جسمے سہارا وادی کے ملک، افغانستان، سری لنکا وغیرہ شامل ہیں، ان جگہ پر دہشتردانہ حملے کے سبب ہلاکت میں کئی گنا اضافہ ہوا ہے، طالبان ابھی سبز زیادہ خوخار دہشتگرد تنظیم بنا ہوا ہے جیسے 2019 میں 5 ہزار افراد کی جان لی ہے،
دہشت گردی میں کمی ہونے کے سبب دنیا کی معیشت کے نقصان میں پچھلے پانچ سالوں میں 77 فیصد کی کمی آئی ہے جس میں مشرق وسطی اور شمالی افریقہ میں کمی آنے کا اہم کردار ہے، وہی افغانستان کی معیشت اس کا سب سے بڑا شکار ہے، دہشت گردانہ حملوں میں ہلاکت میں بھی 59 فیصد کی خاصی کمی آئی ہے، اب ان کا نشانہ جنوبی ایشیا اور سہارا وادی کے ملک ہوگئے ہیں
